Anselmians
RUGBY UNION FOOTBALL CLUB
A
nselmians RUFC did not enjoy the success that they wanted and last
season but have some exciting plans in place in order to make sure
that they are successful both on and off the field in the future. Rugby Club
Magazine recently caught up with their new Chairman Ravi Sibal to find
out more.
He told us, “I have been involved with the club as a player
for 24 years; I recently started coaching at the U7 and U8 level
over the past two seasons when my son started to play. The
club has a spirit and ethos that is not found in many clubs.”
“The largest challenge is club development; looking to
develop the management systems in line with the physical re-
generation as well as recruitment, getting new players in at the
senior and junior levels. It is hugely rewarding to be able to see
current players enthused by the plans for the club and brining
the junior sections through into the sport
“The club is upbeat with a real buzz about the plans to
move the forward with the new facilities. The last season
has been challenging and disappointing, we have not hit the
targets we have set for ourselves.
“We have set some targets for the next few years and are
putting in place the coaching targets to get us there. Our plans
now are to recruit, build fitness and resilience in the teams. We
have bought in a new coach to develop the sides and skills at
each level.
“Youth rugby is massively important to us, we see it as the
lifeblood and are keen to build numbers across the age groups
“We have a plan to redevelop the club house over the next
twelve to eighteen months with a brand new clubhouse and
renovated pitches. The Club facilities and ambition will be
unrivalled in the local area.
“We are a community club; we have deep links with the
local area and plan to have a youth club as part of the new
development. We look to provide a hub for the local community
long into the future.”
It is certainly an exciting to be involved with Anselmians
RUFC with a lot of hard work going into helping the club
progress. If they continue in the same manner then they should
be able to look forward to a bright and successful future for
many years to come.
