RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
C
hiswick Rugby Club enjoyed a positive 2015-16 campaign and will be looking to
build on that in the new season. We recently caught up with Chairman Kelvin Campbell
to find out how they are getting along at present.
He told us, “I have been with the club
for 30 years, having attended Chiswick
School, I then joined Chiswick Rugby
Club (then called the Old Meadonians,
before the club went open in 1996).
“The most challenging part of my
role is without a doubt fundraising, the
club has enjoyed great success over the
last five years, winning the Middlesex
Cup twice, but more importantly being
promoted to London Division One (Level
6) which is the highest we have ever
been. As a result improvements have had
to be made and travel costs increased.
The most rewarding thing for me is the
achievements listed above coupled with
starting minis and junior rugby in 2011.
“The atmosphere is very positive
at the moment. There is a real buzz
following last year’s successful season
which saw the 1’s finish tenth in the new
division, the 2’s win their league playoff
final and the 3’s just losing in their league
