skipper) recently told Rugby Club Magazine:
“My business has sponsored Chaddesley Corbett RFC for the past 10 years or
so and are very proud to be associated with them.
“It’s a very exciting time for the Club. Performances on (and off) the pitch
have improved significantly over recent seasons and it is wonderful to see
junior, grass roots, rugby doing so well in the professional era.
“Numbers at training on a Tuesday are approaching an all-time high, and
this is predominantly down to Head Coach Marcus Wilson and his coaching
team, who make training both ‘fun’ and ‘challenging’.
“As a rugby player, whatever your age, you want to continue learning and
developing, and under Marcus’ leadership that is most certainly the case.
“They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks; well, as a 52 year old
back row forward with approaching 1000 1st team games under my belt
(University of Teesside, IBM Portsmouth RFC, Middlesbrough RFC, Sale RFC,
Warley RFC & Chaddesley Corbett RFC) I have to vehemently disagree and I
would encourage anyway interested in rugby union, whatever your level, to
come down the club for a run around and a beer.”
