“We are very much a
community club. It is a very
small close knit community and
one that tries to entice players
from further afield. Youth rugby
is very important to the club
but sadly with the three big
clubs near us (Kidderminster/
Droitwich and Bromsgrove) we
lose a lot of players to them.
Everybody wants to play with
their friends after all.
Chaddesley haven’t always
been able to offer players
a transition into the senior
game but we are working on
improving.
Approximately
eleven years ago was the last
influx of youngsters from the
Mini and Junior section - some of
which now play for Bridgenorth,
Bournville
and
Worcester
Warriors.”
Challenges/Ambitions
“One
of
the
biggest
challenges that we face is player
retention. All clubs face this and
I believe that as we have a strong
core of players and committee
members we are well set up to
cope.
Chaddesley
being
Chaddesley we will aim high
for the next two years and then
re-evaluate the team. A lot of
people will come and go in the
5 year period but we will always
be that quaint little village team
that everybody loves playing
against.”
