“Hawks players are involved in the coaching
of the minis and juniors as part of their contractual
obligations.
“The growing women’s section is vital to the
success of the club and they currently play at the
second tier of the women’s game. Indeed there are
plans to hold taster sessions for girls of all ages
this season.
“After a few yo-yo years Henley are still
ambitious to return to National 1 but realise that
this must be done with a clear sustainable model
based on strong community values. We will be
developing a team to see us through the next
few years and this year’s team is talented but
inexperienced.
“There’s no doubt that Henley has some of the
best facilities in this league and indeed the league
above. The programme for future developments
will only enhance its reputation and ensure it is
firmly placed to meet the demands of the next few
years.
“The challenge of course is to develop a
sustainable provision that enables the club
to provide all players with an enjoyable and
worthwhile experience that meets the core values
of the game.”
Phyllis Court Club and the Henley Rugby Club are neighbours
in the beautiful market town of Henley-on-Thames. Phyllis
Court is delighted to be sponsoring the Henley Hawks this
year.
Phyllis Court Members Club is a picturesque venue, with
deluxe accommodation and spectacular function rooms,
where the Rugby Club recently enjoyed their annual dinner.
The Club is nestled in 18 acres of beautiful lawns leading
down to the River Thames and is on the finish line of the
famous Henley Royal Regatta course.
The Partnership between the clubs is an easy fit for Phyllis
Court as sports play an important role in its thriving social

different
interest groups such as rowing, croquet, golf, tennis and
dance, with many members expressing an interest in Rugby
and actively attending both clubs.
The Henley Rugby Club is treasured in the local area thanks
to their significant contribution to sport within the community.
