hydyfelin RFC is based on Fairfield Lane in Pontypridd and their first team currently competes in Division 1 East
Central of the Swalec National League. They are led by Chairman Gareth Saunders who is supported by Treasurer
Brian Baldwin and the club is looking to progress under their guidance.
This season their first team
has put together a steady
campaign, compiling a league
record of eleven wins and
eleven defeats from their 22
league matches. This saw
them finish in a safe mid table
position with 57 points on the
board.
This should provide them
with a solid platform upon
which to build as they head
into the off-season. So long
as they are able to retain their
current group of players and
perhaps make one or two
quality additions they should
be in with a good chance of
pushing on up the table next
time around.
One of the highlights of the
team’s
performances
this
season was the attacking brand
of rugby that they managed to
produce. This was reflected by
the fact that they racked up an
impressive 528 points at a rate
of nearly 25 per game, making
them one of the top scorers in
the league.
