Dean Hooper is a
sponsor and long term
fan of Beddau Rugby
Club. He recently told
Rugby Club Magazine,
“I grew up in Beddau
and have been a fan
of the club since my
school days; many of
my classmates were
also. I have sponsored
sport locally for quite
a few years and was a
sponsor of the Blues
for six years before
returning to Beddau.
I try and help out with
sponsorship whenever
I can and would like
to continueto do see
into the foreseeable
future, best wishes to
everyone associated
with Beddau Rugby
Club.”
£8000 was raised to enable 4 bike riders to
take part in the Cardiff to Paris race on 3
June. The aim being for all proceeds to be
submitted for Owen Williams who suffered
a serious spinal injury whilst playing for
Wales.
I must thank the 2009 Lions front row
Gethin Jenkins, Mathew Rees and Adam
Jones as well as Rik OShea the compeer for
giving their services free of charge with a Q
and A forum.

Seven years ago we spent over £200,000
on ground improvements to reach the
required criteria to play in the premiership,
originally the work had to be completed in
July but a WRU letter in October stated
January. We won division one east but
the WRU prevented our promotion to the
premiership at an EGM.
The aim for the next five years is to continue
organising successfully all our mini, youth,
first and second teams. At present I cannot
visualise us ever reaching the Premiership
but we would be more than content to
return to the Championship.
Rugby is a game to enjoy and form
everlasting friendships.
Finally, I cannot omit mentioning our
total survival depends on many sponsors
especially main sponsors Bob Gray Plant,
Edwards Coaches, Phillip Miles of High
Motive and Tom Pritchard Contractors.
