harrogate We’re so proud... to be Yorkshire and proud to support the Harrogate Junior Rugby Festival The Real Alternative For Business Gas Supply games even when they are not playing at their best. A key reason for the sides attacking brand of rugby was the performances of Callum Irvine and Lewis Minikin. Irvine was their leading try scorer with 13 whilst Minikin contributed 11. They will be hoping these players can continue to perform with such distinction in the future. Harrogate is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and they also have a number of youth sides in place. These teams look to provide youngsters from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is important for any side to be able to produce their own talent if they are to be successful over a sustained period of time and this is an area that Harrogate Call us today on 01423 502554 or visit www.cngltd.co.uk appears to have covered. It will certainly be exciting to see how their juniors can develop over the coming years. In order to help ensure that these players enjoy a smooth transition into the senior game they also run additional sides. This allows them to gain experience of the adult game even if they are not yet considered ready for first team action which can be an important step in the development process. Another benefit of having extra sides is that it allows the first XV to benefit from far greater strength in depth. If they are ever left short on numbers through injury or work commitments they have the option of calling players up with a limited amount of disruption. This is also a club that is committed to playing a vital role in the local community and this was demonstrated recently when they donated an entire commercial kitchen to Corrina & Friends, the town’s first ‘pay as you feel’ community café. Speaking to www.harrogaterugby.com, Club Chairman James Smithies said, “We are so pleased that the club has been able to contribute to Corrina’s café by donating our old kitchen equipment. The club moves to its new site on Rudding Lane in September, so no longer needs the kitchen from Claro Road. We are delighted that it will go towards helping such a worthy cause and wish Corrina every success with the venture which we will continue to support in any way we can.” Harrogate is a terrific example of wellrun, superbly administered establishment and hopefully they will be able to continue with the fine work that they’ve been doing for many years to come. www.harrogaterugby.com- Twitter : @Harrogate_Rugby www.sportip.biz 23
