est Leeds RUFC is based
on Bluehill Lane, Wortley
in West Yorkshire and
their first team currently
competes in Yorkshire
Division Two. They are led by the team of
President Barry Breakwell and Chairman
Phil Christopher and the club has made a
considerable amount of progress under their
guidance.
In the league this season the team has generally
been in fine form having put together a record
of twenty wins, a draw and four defeats from
their 25 matches. This sees them sitting near
the top of the table with 95 points on the board
as the campaign draws to a close.
They will be looking to finish off their
campaign with a strong performance to wrap
up what has been a very productive year. This
should provide them with the perfect platform
from which to build during the off-season as
they look to be successful next time around.
Despite West Leeds good form in the league
their undoubted highlight comes in the Cup
format of the game as they recently secured
a place in the final after overcoming Melton
Mowbray by 33-22. They produced an
efficient performance to emerge victorious and
survived a late scare to progress.
This sets up a trip to Twickenham for only the
second time in their history as they look to
claim some silverware. The final will see them
take on Bromley and it is sure to be a great day
for everyone associated
with the club.
