tregaron FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG The players are a close knit group and the once a week training night has been well attended throughout the season. On purpose we are not making any huge plans for next year because our league position at the end of the season will be key to those plans. The population in the area is not huge and though we have tried to run youth rugby in the past the numbers work against us and we are happy to see youngsters travel to neighbouring clubs for their youth rugby but due to our close links with the school we are aware of the good players that are in the area. As a committee we are keen to see rugby flourish in the area and with the club playing at the highest standard possible.” Everyone at Rugby Club Magazine would like to take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck for the future. “This season has been an excellent one with nearly every game a well contested one and many of them going down to the wire.” Bill Lloyd of Principal club sponsor Pencefn Feeds Ltd. recently spoke to Rugby Club Magazine about his positive association with Tregaron Rugby Club, saying, “I was born in Tregaron and the club founder, Gwynfor Jones was also my old PE teacher. The area where the club is situated is in a very rural community and so those involved tend to be from within the local farming industry. This has its advantages in bringing the players closer together, however affords fewer opportunities, like other clubs have, to bring in additional players whenever they wish. This in part amplifies the success the club are enjoying this season. It would be great to be in the same league as Aberystwyth, our nearest rivals, which would mean local derbies and the financial rewards both clubs would enjoy. My brother Jim and I sponsor the club and we are certainly in for the long haul. I see our involvement as the beginning of the beginning. We are very proud of our association with Treagaron Rugby Club and it would be a truly deserved reward if the team could gain promotion this season. This in turn would help to inspire the club further and attract more local talent onto the park. Myself, Jim and Pencefn Feeds would like to wish everyone associated with Tregaron Rugb Club continued success for the rest of the season.” 116 Issue 53
