EAST DORSET
East Dorset RFC plays their home games at Iford Lane Playing Fields and currently competes
in the Dorset and Wilts 2 South League. They are led by Chairman Gary Fretton who is
supported by Treasurer Vicky Keating and the club has made a considerable amount of
progress under their guidance.
Their first team has made a superb start to the
season this time around having managed to
win all 3 of their opening matches. This sees
them sitting near the top of the table and if they
are able to keep up the recent good form it
should not be long before they find themselves
top.
Their positive opening is a re flection of the hard
work that the team put into pre-season and
should provide them with the perfect platform
upon which to build over the coming months.
So long as they are able to retain their current
group of players they should be well set up for
a successful campaign.

A particular highlight of their early season form
has been the attacking brand of rugby that they
have managed to produce. This is reflected by
the fact that they have already racked up 81
points in the league alone.
This has certainly meant that any supporters
attending their fixtures have been well
entertained and should encourage more of the
local community to get behind the team in the
future. This in turn has the potential to provide
them with a valuable source of additional
revenue which can be particularly useful during
the off-season when they are not able to rely
upon matchday income.
