EAST DORSET The team’s free-flowing game has not come at the expense of their defence however. A mixture of good organisation and high quality individual defenders has meant that they have conceded just 24 points at an average of just 8 points. It will be important for them to continue in the same manner over the coming months as this will give them the potential to grind out results even when they are not playing at their best. If they are to claim the league title this will be crucial. East Dorset is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however as they also have a youth set-up. This part of the club looks to provide young players from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is vital for any team that is looking to be successful to be able to produce their own talent, particularly in the current financial climate. It will certainly be exciting to see how their juniors are able to develop over the coming years. East Dorset is clearly a well-run, superbly administered establishment and they are reaping the rewards of this on the field at present. Hopefully they’ll continue their good work in the same manner for many years to come and everyone at Rugby Club Magazine would like to wish them the best of luck. “A mixture of good organisation and high quality individual defenders has meant that they have conceded just 24 points at an average of just 8 points.” www.rugby-club.biz 73
