Serving immigrants of the Dubuque area since 2002 , Presentation Lantern Center has provided a comfortable place to learn and share stories for over 1,000 newcomers who have journeyed from six continents and 58 countries to make the Dubuque area their home .
Hospitality Education Advocacy
Tutoring in English and developing life skills in a new culture are among the key experiences offered at Presentation Lantern Center . With these tools , new immigrants are better equipped to assist their family , engage in the education of their children , seek employment and participate more fully in community civic life .
Each person who comes to Presentation Lantern Center has a unique story . Often these stories are shared as tutors and students become friends . Throughout the year , we pause to celebrate events in the lives of people at the center . In 14 years , 72 individuals have studied for and passed the U . S . citizenship test .
