How you can help
The first step is considering what to do in
your own outdoor spaces to create better
habitats for wildlife.
Those who have a garden could consider
wildlife friendly gardening – create a pond,
plant pollen rich flowers, or plant shrubs
with berries for birds.

Most of the data the RSPB use is collected
by volunteers – if you know a little bit
about birds you could get involved in data
gathering with monitoring schemes, such as
those run by the BTO in partnership with
the RSPB.

HELLO, I'm Pam!
I started my new role as Regional
Prevention and Education Adviser
this January.
I am home-based in South Dartmoor,
supporting the Southwest region in all things
Generation Kind over the next two years.
I also lead the national expansion of
Paws 4 Change.
My role involves working on the nine
prevention & education programmes that are
part of Generation Kind, which target three
key areas: children in schools, disadvantaged
young people, and young offenders. I train
teachers about our Compassionate Class and
Great Debate programmes, organise training
courses for looked after children and other
vulnerable populations at our Animal
Centres, and soon I will be supporting
young people in an animal care and wildlife
apprenticeships pilot.
I believe that education is the best
prevention for animal cruelty, and I am
excited to be a part of Generation Kind.
I hope to help shape a kinder future for
animals, and I am looking forward to working
with the West Hatch Animal and Wildlife
Centre on this shared goal.
