(a) With RS facing, hold the yarn at the
back (WS) before slipping any stitches. (b) Keep the yarn at the back (WS), while
slipping all stitches, purlwise one at a
time. (c) When working the next stitch, the
yarn will form a strand across the back
(WS) of the work.
(d) On the RS of the work, an
uninterrupted column of colour will
remain. (e) With the WS facing, hold the yarn
at the front (WS) before slipping any
stitches. (f) Keep the yarn at the front (WS), while
slipping all stitches, purlwise and one
at a time.
(g) Move the yarn back, to the RS of the
work, to begin knitting. (h) Again, the working yarn will form
strands across the WS of the fabric.
