D
istrict Conference and Assembly (DCA) is usually a time Rotarians, Rotaractors
and guests in the District and all over the world come together to celebrate the end of a
Rotary year. In District 9211 (Uganda &Tanzania), we usually celebrate the achievements,
successful activities of Clubs and individuals. The conference’s main event is to ushers in a
vibrant hardworking District Governor, District Rotaract Representative and to bid farewell
to the amazing outgoing teams.
The 94th District and Conference and Assembly took place from 24-27th April, 2019 at Julius
Nyerere Conference Centre in the peaceful city of Dar as Salaam. The four day Conference
and Assembly had us appreciate ourselves for the achievements accomplishments attained
throughout the year 2018-2019, learn from amazing line up of top-notch international
speakers, dine to exquisite meals and drinks, appreciate the different diverse rich cultural
heritage during the entertaining theme nights that is Meela night, disco night, ballroom
night and the Rotaract beach party. It was also an opportunity to travel, go sightseeing
and indulge in the different beautiful features in Dares Salaam and experience the different
weather conditions as well.
Highlights of the conference
We ushered in the District Governor, Sentamu Xavier of
the Rotary Club of Kiwatule, a former Warrior/member
of the Rotaract Club of Kololo and District Rotaract
representative Sendawula Jacob from the Rotaract Club
of Kampala City.
We bid farewell to the amazing phenomenal, diligent team
of Immediate Past District (IPDG) Governor Shamilah
Bhatt and IPDRR Mwombeki for their wonderful work,
selflessness, time they put in to ensure the District and
country had a great Rotary year. We appreciate!
Listening to the various top-notch international
speakers at the conference held at lavish Julius Nyerere
Conference centre like Fatima Ali and Mustapha Rahma
was so inspiring and motivating.
We were treated to the different diverse rich cultures
during the entertaining theme nights of Meela night,
Disco night Ballroom night and Rotaract beach party.
These nights blew us away with presentations from
dancers like DG Shamilah, the various Rotary Clubs,
musicians as well as the different designer attire people
dressed into. We dinned to meals that were tasty,
appetizing, scrumptious, yummy, luscious, delectable,
mouth-watering fit for kings and we were spoilt for
choice on the drinks.
