Spotlight On Don Middlebrook One would think it would be tough for a guy from the middle of Michigan to end up becoming one of the top names in Trop Rock. After 20 years in the music industry, Don Middlebrook has not only earned that title, he’s worked long and hard for it. His latest album “The Key West Connection” proves that point and although the album makes it seem like it was effortless, it was quite a painstaking process. Don has built up quiet a few close friends in Key West including the late Captain Tony and continues that relationship with Capt. Tony’s family. In fact, Don is one of the cornerstones of Key West’s annual Capt. Tony Days. Don uses his Key West connections well throughout the entire album. His collaborations include The Key West High School Band, Capt. Tony’s daughter Coral Tarracino, and Lorian Hemmingway, the granddaughter of THE Ernest Hemmingway. If that’s not even to perk one’s interest, his album cover was done eclusively for Don from the world renowned aquatic artist Wyland. The singles from Don’s albums have lowly been released over the past twelve months and have ended up becoming big hits on BeachFront Radio even without the support of a full length album to back them up. Now, the album is a reality and it’s time to get YOUR copy. “The Key West Connection” is a must-have for EVERY Trop Rock fan’s collection. Be sure to see Don at BeachFront Radio’s Welcome To Key West Party on Wednesday October 30th beginning at noon at The Smokin’ Tuna Saloon.
