GLASS SNAKE
(sp. Ophisaurus attenuatus)
It’s also called a Glass Lizard or Jointed
Snake. In order to move, the Glass Snake has
to push off from objects with its sides, which
is much unlike a snake that is capable of slithering along on its belly.
LORE: Unlike a true Snake, the Glass Snake
has a tendency to get stuck going over a high
slope, such as the high point on a road.
WATER MOCCASIN, SNAKE
(sp. Agkistrodon piscivorus)
Also known as the Cottonmouth, the
Water Moccasin is a member of the Pit
Viper Family, which includes Rattlesnakes and Copperheads.
They’re strong swimmers and have
manged to colonize many of the islands
off the Gulf Coast.
They are also very poisonous, as well
as very agressive, and the bite from an
adult Snake can be fatal.
