LORE: Spanish Nao (Carrack)
The French called it a Nef, and the Portugease called
it a Nau. This is the Sailing Ship that pioneered the
early exploration of the World through the 1400’s and
1500’s, and it was only modestly improved on (by
ships such as the Schooner and the Clipper) even into
the 19th Century.
LORE: 16th Century Spanish
Helmet
This is a Comb Morion Helmet - made
famous to this day by the Spanish Conquistadors. But in the 16th Century it
was just as popular with the English,
the Hungarians, the Swedish and a
good portion of Europe, where it was
seen being adorned upon the heads of
Kings. Fashionable, perahps, but not
that great for wearing to the beach.
