JODY ' S OBITUARY
Jody Ann Lippmann , 64 , of Cedar Rapids , passed away from a short illness on Friday , June 16 , 2023 at Unity Point St . Luke ’ s Hospital .
Services : 10:30 a . m ., Saturday , June 24 , 2023 at Concordia Lutheran Church by Rev . Brad Brown . Burial : 2:30 p . m ., Saturday at Warren Evangelical Cemetery , Waverly . Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 5 to 7 p . m ., and on Saturday from 9 to 10 a . m . at Concordia Lutheran Church . Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family .
Jody is survived by her husband of 27 years , Larry ; aunts and uncles , Stan and Joye Nolte , Dennis and Marcia Johnson , and Tom and Ruth Thomas ; many nieces , nephews and cousins ; and extended family .
She was preceded in death by her father , Gordon Nolte ; mother , Neva Stone ; stepfather , Chuck Stone ; and brother , Jeff Nolte .
Jody was born on January 4 , 1959 in Waverly , daughter of Gordon and Neva Thomas Nolte . She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1977 , and following , graduated from Kirkwood Community College , the University of Iowa and attended classes at Mt . Mercy University . On September 2 , 1995 , Jody married Larry Lippmann at Concordia Lutheran Church .
Jody had many interests . She was part of the church youth group , attended numerous youth national gatherings , sang in church choirs and participated in several bible study fellowship groups . Jody enjoyed camping , making baby blankets , attending multiple book clubs , coffee groups and coloring get-togethers . She loved being with family whether it involved camp outs , holidays , vacations or just time spent together .
She liked Hawkeye football games , bird watching , and crafting bracelets . Jody and Larry enjoyed nurturing nature and raising Monarch Butterflies . Jody was an active member of Girl Scouts in her early years . Jody and Larry were very involved with Theatre Cedar Rapids . They started by ushering and doing set construction . Jody went on to be the house manager , working there until her passing .
