“howls” Sonata Arctica all the way. It’s also a bit experimental since it includes some spoken parts and
some wolf sounds howling in the beginning of the
song. A perfect song for people to go crazy at their
live shows because it irradiates a lot of potential and
has lots of rhythm changes. “What Did You Do In The
War, Dad” is a masterpiece that goes in crescendo. It
starts with Tony singing some verses with a fragile
voice, and as the song builds up it explodes in a magnificent chorus: fast, ethereal, and with some nice
keys. On the other side, “Half A Marathon Man” could
perfectly be one of Edguy’s songs, ¡I missed Tobias on
this one!
For the ballad lovers “Love” will be your new drug;
“X Marks The Spot” is one of the best songs and, it’s
funny, one of the most experimental: lots of rhythm
changes, voice and instrumental changes… Spoken
parts, crazy parts, slow parts, symphonic parts, in
short words, it has everything! “Larger Than Life” is
an odyssey of sounds. I’m not going to spoil you the
surprise because it’s huge, and apart from its long
length, it contains everything you would expect and
more, I hope you enjoy it once the album comes out
next March 28th by Nuclear Blast Records.

4 Delain
After “We Are the Others” and “Interlude” Delain
strikes back with “The Human Contradiction”. Fans of
their most catchy and symphonic side will totally love
this one.
The first song “Here Come The Vultures” is a music
explosion at its best, Charlotte changes her register
several times, symphonic passages everywhere, an
aggressive guitar base that marks the rhythm, choirs
in the background… ¿What else can I say? Even the
lyrics are fantastic. 6 minutes of pure magic. “Your
Body Is A Battleground” follows the line of the previous one, fast guitars, and one of the catchiest chorus’. But don’t be fooled, Marco Hietala steps in this
song and that adds some additional strength to the
song. It’s reminiscent from “Lucidity”, but with faster
melodies. Next one, is “Stardust”, a little bit calmer
but without leaving the heavy guitars aside. This
one could have been included in their previous album. When you listen to it you instantly notice that
is a typical Delain song and we think this might be
their first single, there’s no doubt it has the potential. “Bring me the light, bring me the starlight… Bring
me the sun and moon, release the skies tonight.” Very
catchy.
“My Masquerade”, which we could already heard in a
special show the band did with the same name, follows the mood of the album although it might be a
little bit repetitive along with “Sing For Me”, which
chorus can be very repetitive, but still it is a very
beautiful song with great verses, Charlotte’s voca
