Whilst RM Sotheby’ s is globally recognised as the leading automotive auction house, its roots lie in the automobile restoration business. RM Auto Restoration is one of the most highly regarded restoration businesses to be found anywhere in the world, with many of the most important collector cars having emerged onto the lawns of the world’ s most prestigious concours events, winning numerous Best of Show and class honours, including nine“ Best of Show” wins at Pebble Beach. Recreating the magic of yesteryear is ultimately what keeps the cars that formed the foundation of the classic-car world moving.

Each of those stages is undertaken to the most exacting of standards, the first being where the car is completely disassembled, with every component examined, inventoried, photographed and documented. The chassis, body and structural woodwork are then restored using traditional techniques, while engines and mechanical components are rebuilt, balanced and tuned in-house.
Stage two focuses on the interior and electrical systems. Instruments, clocks, radios and gauges are repaired or rebuilt, while skilled upholsterers recreate
