aison Oriza was first founded when Fargeon
Aîné set up his first shop in the Louvre
Palace’s central court and made a fragrance
for the young king. It was rumored that
Fargeon’s potions and creams were the secret of Ninon
de Lenclos, a great courtesan known for her beauty and
eternal youth. And most importantly, he was also the
perfumer of the infamous Queen Marie-Antoinette. With
all that history and time as a parfumerie, there is no doubt
that people began to buy Maison Oriza’s scents not only for
their skin, but eventually, also for their homes. That being
said, the Maison wasn’t only producing fragrances and
cosmetics for skin, but also scents for home interiors such as
curtains, sofas, and wardrobes.
Aynı yıl Fargeon Aîné, Maison Oriza’nın ilk dükkanını
Louvre Sarayı’nın merkez avlusuna açtı ve genç kral için bir
parfüm yaptı. Meşhur saray hanımefendisi Ninon de Lenclos’un, güzellik ve gençliğini Fargeon’un hazırladığı losyon
ve kremlere borçlu olduğu dedikodusu ortaya çıktığında ise
Maison Oriza'nın şöhreti iyice yayıldı. Müşterileri arasında
Kraliçe Marie-Antoinette bile vardı. O zamanlarda sadece
insanların değil evlerin de güzel kokmaya ihtiyacı vardı. Bu
nedenle Maison Oriza gibi parfümcüler, kozmetik ürünleri
ve parfümler üretmenin yanı sıra perdeler, koltuklar ve gardıroplarda kullanılacak ev kokuları da üretiyorlardı.
