for a location, we did just that, visited a
few ateliers, and realised how happy and
passionate everyone was here in Sanayi.

Will there be any surprises awaiting
your guests in Sanayi 313 soon?
Sanayi 313 is an opportunity for
interwoven art and design. We recently
collaborated with Nilüfer Yıldırım, one of
the young painters of Istanbul, to create a
series called “Origins.” She spent an entire
Sunday painting a beautiful depiction of
four simultaneous seasons in a mural on
the wall of Sanayi 313. It was actually a 10
hour process in total, with huge scaffolding
set up and everything. The experience was
filmed and featured in a short film using
İdil Ergün’s camera and Elvan Otgen’s art
direction. Guests can access this film at
the Sanayi 313’s website (www.sanayi313.
com). Other projects and artist showcases
like this will be a continuing effort of ours.
In addition to all of this, we have also been
preparing a joint concept project specific
to Jackson Pollock and the new book
published by the world famous Assouline.
This will come out in November. One of
our recent surprises has been the launch of
the Spring/Winter shoe-handbag collection
by our own brand Atelier 313 at the Sanayi
store.
Lets turn to chef Müge Ergül. Can
you talk about yourself and your
experiences?
M.E: After graduating from Saint Benoit
French High School, I went on to complete
my studies at İstanbul Bilgi University’s
Department of Television Journalism.
Following university, I realised my passion
was in cooking and thus I pursued cooking
at the Culinary Arts Academy. After working
at Lokanta Maya and Gram in Istanbul with
Didem Şenol for many years, I also gained
international experience at the Ottolenghi
Restaurant in the UK.

Evet. Şehrin içinde sıkışmış bu endüstriyel muhit, aslında bir çok sanatçının atölyelerine ev sahipliği yapıyor. Sanatçıları
takip ederseniz her toplumda, her şehirde
bir şekilde doğru yönü bulabilirsiniz. Daha
önce buradaki sanatçı atölyelerini ziyaret
edip onların sanayide ne kadar mutlu olduklarına tanıklık etmiştik.
Sanayi 313'de yakın zamanda misafirleri bekleyen sürprizler olacak mı?
Sanayi 313, sanat ve tasarımla iç içe
olan bir oluşum. Daha önce genç ressamlardan Nilüfer Yıldırım ile bir çalışma
gerçekleştirdik. Sanatçı son serisi “Kökler”i dört mevsimin aynı anda yaşandığı
bir pazar günü Sanayi 313’ün duvarına
çizdi. Büyük bir iskele kuruldu ve sanatçı çizime başladı. 10 saat süren bu süreç,
İdil Ergün’ün kamerası ve Elvan Otgen'in
sanat direktörlüğünde kısa bir filme dönüştü. Sanayi 313’ün websitesinde (www.sanayi313.com) bu filme ulaşmak mümkün.
Sanatçılarla hayata geçireceğimiz bu tarz
projelerimiz devam edecek. Bunun yanı
sıra Kasım ayında dünyaca ünlü yayınevi
Assouline’nin yeni kitabı Jackson Pollock
özelinde ortak bir konsept projeyi hayata
geçirmeye hazırlanıyoruz. Son sürprizlerimizden biri de kendi markamız Atelier
313’ün heyecanla beklenen Sonbahar/Kış
ayakkabı-çanta koleksiyonunun mağazadaki yerini alması oldu.

M.E: Saint Benoit Fransız Lisesi’nden
sonra İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi Televizyon Gazeteciliği Bölümü’nü bitirdim. Üniversite sonrasında asıl istediğim mesleği
yapmak için Mutfak Sanatları Akademisi
Aşçılık Bölümü’nde öğrenim gördüm. Lokanta Maya ve Gram’da Didem Şenol ile
birlikte uzun yıllar çalıştıktan sonra İngiltere’de bulunan Ottolenghi Restoran'da
deneyim kazandım.
