There are three types of main types of locations where retailers choose to locate their business's such as;

- Out of town
- Local
However within those three locations there are different types of places.
Within the In town location the type of retail areas within would be
- Highstreet
- Markets
- Shopping Centres
- Pop up shops
These are within the In town location bracket.
Out of town places would be;
- Outlet Village
- Retail Park
- Out of town centre
An example of a;
High street- Oxford Street
Market- Dgenham Market
Shopping Centre- Stratford Westfield
Pop up shops- Box Park
An example of the out of town areas are;
Outlet Village- Bicester
Retail park- Gallows Corner
Out of town centre- Bluewater
