Why did you decide to become a candidate for the Monticello Royal Ambassador Program?
This is my second time running for the program, and this year it’ s really about the people for me. I love the connections and friendships you make, and I think it’ s such a cool opportunity
to give back to and celebrate the community.
Are you involved in any sports, clubs, church groups or extracurricular activities?
I attend youth group at QSM whenever I can. I was also involved in Yearbook this past year, where one of my favorite parts was taking photos at school and community events and capturing memories for others. What is your favorite Riverfest event? Art in the Park. I love walking around all the booths, seeing the different artists and vendors, and taking part in all the activities.
What is your favorite place or thing to do in Monticello?
The Monticello movie theater. I love movies, so it’ s one of my favorite places to spend time with friends and family.
What are you most passionate about?
Helping others. Ever since I was little, helping people has been one of my favorite things to do. I don’ t expect anything in return— knowing I made a difference
for someone is enough. What is a fun fact about you? I wrote an article for the Monticello Times on the importance of putting down our phones and spending more time connecting with people face to face.
What community service or volunteer work have you done?
Our lacrosse team volunteered at Feed My Starving Children. It was a fun but meaningful experience, and knowing the meals we packed would help people in need made it even more rewarding.
Can you describe yourself in five words?
Empathetic, driven, enthusiastic, kind and social.
What are your plans after high school?
I plan to attend Minnesota State University, Mankato, where I hope to double major in education and psychology and become a school psychologist. Who is your role model and why? My mom. When she faces adversity, she always finds a way to overcome it. She puts others first, and I wouldn’ t be the person
I am today without her. If you could go anywhere, where would it be and why?
Greece. I’ ve always been fascinated by Greek mythology, and I’ d love to experience the country’ s architecture, history and culture in person.
