INTRODUCTION

I have decided to do a collaboration with Cara Delevingne and River Island to create an athleisure range. My aim is to focus on the athleisure trend and create clothes that are suitable for the streets as well as the gym, this would add a new category to River Island as they only stock active wear.

Cara Delevingne has a huge following on social media and is a fashion influencer among the young generation which is the target market for River Island aged 16-25. Her style is also young, trendy and the perfect fit for an athleisure collection. Cara Delevingne has good connections with other fashion influencers such as Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Kate Moss who can also share information about the collection and help boost sales.

I have decided to focus on Buying and Marketing for my final project as I want a career in either buying, journalism, marketing or PR. The skills I have developed are communication, teamwork, creativity, computer skills, presentation skills and commercial awareness. In marketing I have learnt how to create a magazine, plan marketing campaigns and understand the marketing mix. In buying I have learnt about range plans, comp shops, analysing trends and pricing.
