River Heights Chamber of Commerce CHAMBER RECOGNITION The River Heights community and Chamber members are encouraged to nominate their own business or another business within the community that meets the following criteria/qualifications for the Small Business of the Year Award and Business of the Year Award. Community individuals are also encouraged to nominate a professional individual for the Forrest Glewwe Visions of Excellence who will complete the application on behalf of the nominee (this award may be a surprise to the individual nominated). The Rising Star Award/ Volunteer of the Year Award may be nominated by the Chamber staff along with nominations/recommendations from Chamber member volunteers. All applications are held in a confidential manner. The Recognition Committee of the River Heights Chamber of Commerce will evaluate the business/individual using the following criteria and supported documentation on their respective applications. Past award recipients may be found on the River Heights Chamber of Commerce website at www.riverheights.com. and the winners are… The Business of the Year Award celebrated 25 years in 2020 - the award has been given out to an outstanding Chamber member business in the River Heights region since 1995. The award recognizes a Chamber member organization that has been in business for a minimum of FIVE years, has more than 20 employees (including full-part-time) and has at least FIVE years of membership in the River Heights Chamber. The business must be in good standing and an involved participant in the River Heights Chamber through any of the following: committees, meetings & events or sponsorships and fundraising. The organization must also demonstrate a commitment to the community through its involvement and assistance to community 2020 Business of the Year Tim and Heather Drkula of Drkula’s 32 Bowl organizations (including but not limited to the River Heights Chamber of Commerce), commitment to growth and business improvement through investment in new equipment, buildings, growth in the number of employees, programs and/or other innovations, commitment to employees through innovative employee programs, commitment to excellence in service, business ethics, and friendliness, as well as a commitment to response to adversity by facing problems and developing solutions. Nominations and applications are due in the fall for this award given out at the beginning of the next year at the River Heights Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting.
