Going The Extra Mile

One Client At A Time

Gary LaFine was already a client of Nesbit Agencies when he approached his agent and told her that he was interested in buying a resort . He was a first-time owner , and it was a new adventure , but it was something that he had dreamed about doing . The agent introduced him to Alisha Paradise and she talked with Gary . “ He asked me what was needed ,” Alisha remembers , “ and he said he was also going to get a bid from another insurance agency , and then we ’ d come together and see what we could come up with .”

Gary obviously had a ton of questions because he had never owned anything like this before , and it was a grueling process . It was months in the making , and Gary and Alisha went over everything . Whenever he called , she ’ d answer , or call him back if she didn ’ t catch the phone right away . If he emailed her , Alisha would respond right away , and Gary says that he appreciated that because in his experience , that ’ s not always the case .
At the end of the process , Gary was presented with two different quotes , one from Nesbit Agencies and one from another agency . Alisha ’ s quotes were the higher of the two , and she really didn ’ t think she was going to get the account . She thought that she had done a really good job , but at the end of the day , she felt Gary was going to go with the other company . After all , the policy was cheaper , and he wanted to save money since he was just starting out .
Even though Alisha ’ s quote was higher , it included all the things that Alisha told Gary that he needed right out of the gate . She understood that he was putting all of his assets into this resort . Since it was his whole livelihood , he needed to make sure that he was covered should something happen .
A week later , Gary called , and he told Alisha he was going with her because she had answered all of his questions and was honest with him . She had explained every aspect of why she was giving him the coverages she was giving him , and that built a relationship .
Gary is one of those people who , when he sees the magazine articles that Alisha is featured in , he always calls her and tells her how great the article is . He agrees with what is written about her and how she takes care of people and goes the extra mile for them . Gary claims you don ’ t find that very often , and Alisha now takes care of all of his accounts .
She has gone out to Midway Beach Resort and taken pictures , and she has referred people to Gary and his resort . He appreciates the work that gets done on his account , and he has gotten some credits , because there have been no claims . So , his premiums have gone down instead of up , and he ’ s excited about that !
“ I just want people to be covered correctly .” Alisha says . “ I ’ m not going to sell them what they don ’ t need , but I definitely make sure that they have exactly what they do need , especially when they ’ re starting out and putting all their money into a business . This is huge , so they have to have the right coverage .” +
Alisha Paradise has been with the Nesbit Agencies for almost four years and has been in the insurance industry for over 6 years . She started her insurance career by learning the industry as a Customer Service Representative in our East Bethel Saarela Insurance office and quickly evolved from CSR into one of the Nesbit Agencies most productive Producers . She handles all types of insurance but especially loves the commercial side due to its complexity and the importance it represents for all business owners .
