We Are Growing Knight Archer & Conexus Acquisition P erhaps the biggest news in the Saskatchewan insurance industry this year was the announcement that Knight Archer Insurance has acquired Conexus Insurance from Conexus Credit Union. The purchase is the largest acquisition by an independent insurance brokerage in the history of our province. The addition of the Conexus Insurance locations and staff now provide Knight Archer with fourteen locations across the province and over 160 staff members to serve our customers. Conexus Insurance opened about ten years ago when credit unions across Saskatchewan began purchasing insurance brokerages to complement the financial services they were providing their members. Conexus was able to acquire brokerages in Regina, Saskatoon, Lumsden, Humboldt, Lake Lenore, and Muenster. These acquisitions made Conexus Insurance among the largest insurance brokerages in Saskatchewan. Knight Archer has been able to add some experienced people to our team as part of the acquisition. Michael Weber, the division leader of Conexus Insurance and branch manager for the Humboldt region, has been named Vice President of Branch Operations (North). His territory covers the Humboldt region as well as both Saskatoon locations of Knight Archer. Other notable individuals that have been added to the team are Phil Casey, Kelly and Debbie Casey. All were branch managers in their respective offices and have taken on similar roles at Knight Archer. The strength of any insurance brokerage is the people it employs, and we are fortunate to have added not only some very talented individuals at the management level but also a very professional, trained staff as well. A clear benefit of the acquisition to the customers coming over from Conexus Insurance is that new insurance markets are now available to them. Knight Archer has access to more markets for both personal and commercial insurance, which will provide these new clients with more options and more competitive pricing. In addition to new markets, Knight Archer will provide expertise in the area of group benefits as well as commercial insurance. Both Conexus Credit Union and Knight Archer Insurance are well known for their commitment to building a better community. Both organizations have been recognized for their community involvement efforts, and that will continue with the new ownership.
