We hope to bring you timely articles from a mixture of local and national experts in each issue. As a locally owned company that was recently joined by its third generation of business owners, we are excited to be celebrating our 98th year in business! In today’s workplace, we have seen increased consolidation and mergers throughout the business community, and the insurance agency space is no different. As I write this note to you today, I am reading about two of our competitors that have been recently acquired by either national brokers or private equity firms. A third broker is being resold to a private equity firm after being bought out by a national broker a short time ago. The increased frequency of these events has become dizzying! At JGS we have made a commitment to remain Independent so that we can continue to service our community in the customized approach that has made us successful for generations. We c ontinue to expand our service offerings to the benefit of our customers: in-house loss control consulting, claims advocacy, employee benefits management, Affordable Care Act (ACA) consulting, and risk management training. We are committed to building out service platforms to help our clients grow more profitably with consistent results. In this issue, we will once again be covering a wide range of topics.
