STAFFING
CLIENT
into the commercial real estate industry,
going into brokerage to learn the ins and
outs of all aspects and services within the
industry.
Along the line, Jason decided to do a
“Jerry Maguire” and go out on his own.
After working more than 17 years in
the commercial real estate industry—
years of growth and success at two top
national commercial real estate firms—
he took that expertise, his marketing
background, and his people skills and
founded WCRE in early 2012. Ever
since, Jason has made a point of not only
pushing things forward and setting new
standards but also changing the culture
around how business is done inside and
outside of the office. To accomplish that,
WCRE combines the market knowledge,
professionalism, and national resources
that large firms are known for with the
personal attention and commitment to
client goals that are more often seen in a
boutique setting.
Starting off with just a logo, Jason set
as WCRE’s mission from Day 1 to build
a culture of community-driven, team-
oriented players. With the community
commitment initiative, a portion of fees
earned is donated back to the community
at large. Additionally, WCRE runs two
major charity events to help distribute
donations, holding a number of events
based around the goal of altruistic
fundraising. Over the years, they have
held everything from celebrity hockey
tournaments to golf outings. The end
result is that the WCRE Foundation has
raised over $315,000 in the last four
years, funds that are given back to local
organizations that are making an impact
on those in need within the communities
where WCRE lives and works.
Surprisingly, the way that WCRE
differentiates itself the most from its
competitors is simply by not competing
with itself. Having top earners and
a competitive team is a bonus to
companies, but it can also lead to
negativity in the workplace and a culture
of individualism. At WCRE, teamwork
is fostered. Jason Wolf struck out on his
own and formed WCRE to build on his
own vision and values, using them as the
foundation to build what the company
has become today. A big part of that is
the way the team is put together.
MANY EMPLOYEES
OF THE COMPANY,
FROM THE SALES
TEAM ON UP, ARE
FORMER HIGH-
LEVEL ATHLETES.
THE GOAL OF
HIRING TEAM-
ORIENTED PEOPLE
IS EASY WHEN YOU
FIND PEOPLE WHO
ALREADY KNOW
HOW ESSENTIAL
TEAMWORK IS.
The head of business development
is in the Philadelphia Flyers Hall of
Fame. Chris Henderson is a partner,
and a former player for the Los Angeles
Dodgers. The list goes on. Hiring people
who can metaphorically (and sometimes
literally) play ball or compete at a
high level is the essential component
that keeps things flowing in the right
direction. When someone is brought on
that doesn’t fit, it brings the entire team
down, so negativity and toxicity simply
aren't tolerated. WCRE is all about
having a winning team and a locker room
of positive team players that want to win.
Since its founding, WCRE has received
many accolades, including winning the
CoStar Power Broker Award from CoStar
Group, Inc. for five years in a row from
2013 to 2017. The culture that Jason and
his team have put together is based on
teamwork and a complete commitment
to clients and community. To that
end, they make client goals into their
own goals, leveraging the deep roots
and extensive experience they have in
Philadelphia and southern New Jersey to
connect those clients with the properties,
resources, and opportunities that best fit
them.
The rapid growth of the company is
all the proof one needs to see that
their approach works. Today, over 200
properties comprising five million
square feet are under the exclusive
representation and management of
WCRE. They not only provide clients
with access to properties but they also
provide a number of services including
owner representation, tenant and buyer
representation, property management,
appraisal and advisory evaluation, and
corporate lease portfolio management.
By taking a holistic approach to their
clients’ needs, they aim to make
everything as easy and painless as
possible. +
