2025 Value Spotlight Community Impact Award

PRESENTED TO: INFORMATION, REFERRAL, AND ASSISTANCE SERVICES
Today, IRAS operates the largest food pantry in Clinton. Over the past three years, food requests have surged by 137 %. The organization now provides monthly food boxes to individuals and families in need, and also runs a monthly mobile drive-through food pantry, sponsored by ADM. Beyond food distribution, IRAS offers a wide range of services, including: Rental assistance, Hotel sheltering, Utility assistance, Birth certificate retrieval, Iowa ID establishment, The Med Tree program. IRAS directly impacts more than 6,500 individuals annually. Despite its wide-reaching impact, IRAS receives no federal funding. The agency relies entirely on support from local churches, businesses, community fundraisers, and grants.

Core-Vens Insurance was founded in 1963 by Bill Core and Ray Vens. Their progressive approach quickly made an impact on the insurance industry in Clinton and surrounding communities. In 1985, the company embraced computer automation, installing its first agency management system to streamline quoting for multiple insurance companies. In 2008, Tim Hartsock, under the guidance of Chris and Randy Vens, expanded the Firearms Insurance Program to cover firearm retailers, wholesalers, and manufacturers across 48 states, establishing it as one of only five such niche programs in the U. S. The company’ s greatest asset continues to be its outstanding employees. Core-Vens Insurance remains committed to being a trusted resource, providing tailored solutions that protect clients’ assets. This mission is achieved through problem-solving, active listening, and understanding client needs.
