Thermal Expansion
Thermal Expansion is defined as the tendency of matter to change in volume as a result of a change in temperature. When the ocean water heats up, the molecules inside move faster taking up more space. This process is beginning to accelerate due to the fact that the higher water temperatures cause the glaciers to melt faster. In addition to this, as more of our earth becomes water it becomes easier for the sun to warm our planet.
“Future generations are not going to ask us what political party were you in. They are going to ask what did you do about it, when you knew the glaciers were melting.”
~ Martin Sheen
