Here we are at the dawn of a new decade. Are you longing to step into a new beginning? You can change your story and invite creativity into your life on a daily basis. Rewrite your story by conceding the hard-won lessons of your past, acknowledging your present circumstances with grace and boldly greeting your future.

First take time to Dream. Yes, dream about what you want your life to look like a year from now. Next, put down on paper all the details of that life. Where are you living? Who are you with? How do you spend your time? What is the weather like? What are you wearing, eating, driving or is someone driving you? How do you have fun? Don’t miss a single detail so that we can feel the air, hear the traffic on the street, and the conversations around you.

Now Decide on what part of your dream becomes a reality for you. And just as you were specific with your details about your dream, be specific in describing what you decide to do. Do you want to start eating healthy? What does that mean to you? Fast food once a week? Or fast food once a month? More vegetables and fewer sweets? What can you start doing today? Plot out the year backward and break up action steps into small manageable increments. This time of year resolutions are made with great gusto and dissolve into a haze of good intentions. Don’t let that happen to your rewrite.

After you Decide, then the Do part begins. I would suggest that you keep a journal to document your plans and accomplishments. Fill it with encouragements and how you are making progress on turning your dream into a reality. It’s up to you what the journal entries look like. You may like to make graphs with gold stickers and someone else might write a paragraph about the day’s progress.

I am a firm believer in writing things down. Everything I have ever done both personally and professionally started out as ideas within the pages of my journal. It can be that way for you.

The truth is that you can rewrite the stories and unleash your true purpose in this life. You can ransom the gift you are to the world.

Every morning you have a

chance for a new beginning of a New Day and an opportunity to reaffirm your resolve to make changes in your life.

What will you do differently today, tomorrow and going forward?
