Covid touched us all. And if you can honestly say Covid didn’t impact your life, I’d like to talk to you about how you managed that.
Last year I had my third breast cancer diagnosis. I did what I had to do and showed a positive attitude through surgery, radiation, and check-ups. All the while, I made plans for my reward of vacationing in London as soon as the radiation was over. (My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on my last day of radiation and boarded our flight for London the following day.)
Create a new story -
It's up to us to create a new story and make a plan to get back into balance if we fall out of balance. We are the only ones who can bring peace and harmony to ourselves because we are the only one who know what that looks like for us. It doesn't matter the degree of whatever life throws into our path: we are strong and confident in who we are. We have the skills to find balance again.
For example, after coping with one of life-s startling experiences, you have come to realize you want to share the wisdom you learned from those experiences.
Perhaps you developed a system or a method that proved useful in living your best life. A way for you to fall back into balance with your authentic self. To show up as your amazing self in the world.
What if it’s now clear to you that your wisdom is needed worldwide. More importantly, what if it’s time for you to share your wisdom with the world so that many more people can experience the life they seek. Experience relief from a situation you have found yourself in and are no longer experiencing. An experience that gave you the skills you possess today. An experience that molded you into the person you are today.
You choose the story you want to share and how you want to share it. I suggest you begin crafting the message you want to share by writing things down. Ultimately, you may want to be writing a book or blog. Perhaps you want to be speaking about it at churches, businesses, or networking groups? You may wish to teach about it in schools, universities, service organizations, and non-profit organizations.
Embrace self-care!
Remember to be gentle with yourself. Always include generous expressions of self-care in your work-life balance.
The playground seesaw goes up and down; the same can be true of our life experiences. We have events that bring us tremendous joy, and we are up. An up could be the birth of a child, landing a new job, taking a long-awaited vacation, or getting a clean bill of health from your doctor. An example of a down could be: the loss of a loved one, getting fired, moving, catastrophic illness, or divorce. Learning to reclaim your balance is a skill worth pursuing. And recognizing the valuable lessons learned along life’s journey of ups and downs.
