COMMENDATIONS
Corporal Number 46 Zachrian G. SIMON was highly commended for his
commitment and dedication to duty, keen observation and heroic action
taken on January 21st, 2014, which resulted in the rescue of a missing
thirteen (13) year old student, and the subsequent apprehension of the
suspected male perpetrator.
RGPF FEMALE FOOTBALLERS
The Female Football Team which is first in the history of the Royal Grenada Police has begun training
for participation in upcoming competitions. The team comprises of fourteen (14) Women Police, two (2)
Women Reserved Constables and seven (7) Civilian Staff. The team is managed by five (5) members of
the Police Force; namely, W/Cpl. K. PASCAL, P.C F. RICHARDSON, P.C I. LEZAMA, P.C S. BYAM and
P.C K. PETERS.

FEATURED OFFICER –
SUPERINTENDENT OF POLICE REUBEN MAITLAND
The Royal Grenada Police Force is extremely elated and honored to highlight Reuben
MAITLAND Superintendent of Police.
Born in the little village of Springs in the Parish of St. George, and later migrated to Grand
Roy, St. John, where he lived and had his formal education. At the age of twenty (20) he
made a commitment to protect and serve his country.
On January 4th, 1976, he was enlisted in the Royal
Grenada Police Force and underwent six (6) months
of Initial Police Training; upon completion he was
allotted Police Number 370 and posted to the
Gouyave Police Station.
He was promoted to the rank of Corporal on
January 15th, 1983, Sergeant in September 1989,
Inspector on October 1st, 1993, Assistant
Superintendent
in
October,
2000
and
Superintendent on June 26th, 2007.
Superintendent MAITLAND worked at various
stations, branches and departments within the
Royal Grenada Police Force. His longest stint was
at the Criminal Investigation Department where he
worked for twenty-five (25) years.
We therefore encourage the team to perform at a high standard in their quest for championship!
OBITUARIES
The Commissioner of Police, Ranks and File was saddened over the death of
848 P.C. Amus BUDD who passed away on April 3, 2014, and was laid to rest
on April 15, 2014, at the Coast Guard Cemetery, St. Mark, after a Military
Funeral. May his soul rest in peace!
He attended numerous training and courses locally,
regionally and internationally, thus qualifying him
as one of the most knowledgeable officers within the
Force.
The Military Parade which formed part of our 40th
Anniversary of Independence was commanded by
Superintendent Rueben MAITLAND, which he deems a highlighted moment throughout his
service in the Royal Grenada Police Force.
Presently he is the Officer in charge of the Eastern Division; he is also the sole expert within
the Force in Fire and Arson Investigation.
Superintendent MAITLAND is due to proceed on Compulsory Retirement in May of 2015.
