Now for some specifics. When
you have a cough and cold, we all
sympathise, but we really do not
need to see and share it all with you.
Don’t cough or sneeze in peoples’
faces: use a clean tissue then throw
it away. “Coughs and sneezes spread
diseases”
What about the time you get a
bout of diarrhoea? Well, the most
important thing here is to drink
plenty of good clear fluids, and here
is where hygiene comes in. Always
wash your hands after using the
toilet. This is good for you, and
good for your family and friends.
Hand washing is probably the most
important thing of all to prevent
these diseases spreading. It helps
prevent gut upsets such as diarrhoea
and vomiting, and also lots of other
infections including colds, skin
infections and eye infections. In the
same way, try to avoid sharing towels
with an infected person - why would
you want to wipe their bugs all over
your face?
Of course, all the same rules apply
even if you are not sick.
