From the Centre of Cape Town we recommended they take a short, scenic drive to the awe-inspiring winelands. Staying at the La Residence Luxury Hotel, Gaby and Patrick were surrounded by vineyards and plum orchards, with a spectacular mountain backdrop, breath-taking views of the undulating countryside and an atmosphere of complete tranquility.

Of course being in the winelands meanings tasting some of South Africa’s Award Winning wines and what better way to do this than by horseback. Gaby and Patrick took a scenic ride through the vineyards, forests and over mountains, stopping at the Rickety Bridge Winery and Mont Rochelle before returning to watch the sunset while sipping on a glass of wine.

After enjoying the delicious wines and basking in the tranquility of the winelands, Gaby and Patrick’s journey along the Garden Route started. The first stop was Oudtshoorn. They experienced a heritage tour through the magnificent Cango Caves. Here they found the finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations. Staying at De Zeekoe Guest Farm and Reserve, Gaby and Patrick had an early morning but all worth it for a good adventure – A Meerkat Tour.

The scenic drive to Knysna is breathtaking and so is Knysna itself. Staying at Madison Manor, Gaby and Patrick again had an early morning, another adventure awaited – Black Water Tubing. The expedition is the real deal and is a must for fit and fun loving adventure seekers. Ending off with a traditional South African Braai (BBQ). A short drive from Knysna, Plettenberg Bay also showcased its marine life as they enjoyed a Marine Tour. Ending off their Garden Route adventure

Gaby and Patrick visited an Elephant Sanctuary – an extremely rewarding and humbling experience.

Their final destination was the world-renowned Kruger National Park – Where nearly 2 million hectares of unrivaled diversity of life forms fuses with historical and archaeological sites - this is real Africa.

Their days were filled with game drives, listening to the sounds of Africa and savouring traditional cuisine and of course experiencing a typical African sunset. Disconnecting from the world and becoming one with nature and the bush is the most rewarding experience the Kruger can offer.
