what the script holds for his character and that we just all have to wait and see. I asked Adam
if they had based his character being a ex-Chicago Homicide Detective because he was from
Chicago. He said that he didn’t know for sure but it would make sense because he would be
able to relate to things about and from Chicago. It helps him fit into his character's life. I then
quizzed him further about his character being both a Navy Commander and an ex-police
detective, asking if his character was based on a Navy Reservist who was called to active
duty? He said that in fact it was. I had then stated that it was one of the questions I had
wanted to ask him because in my own case. I had been a firefighter who was also in the
reserve and called to active duty many times and it meant a lot to us to see him playing that
role. Adam then shook my hand and thanked me for my service as a firefighter and in the
military. I followed up with telling him that we were proud of him and the other cast members
for the way that they portrayed the military in such a positive light in the series. I then said
that I had asked my readers and followers if they had any questions that they would like to ask.
I said all I had received was from many military personnel and veterans for them to keep up
the good work and that the show has a large military fan base. I then told him that I had a
request from a sailor on the Minesweeper, the USS Scout to relay that they were a big fan of
the show. Once again Adam shook my hand and thanked me so much for that.
The cast then had to leave for television interviews but we all went around to them all and
thanked them so much for this fun and informative one-on-one encounter.
Adam Baldwin & Jocko Sims
Unfortunately the only cast member from the panel who was absent at this meeting was Eric Dane due to other commitments.
For me this was an exciting opportunity to cover this show and the cast. I want to thank the TNT Network and their public relations
office for giving me this opportunity.
