Children ’ s Leader fruit please
Imagine you spent a lot of money to buy a fruit tree , and you planted it in your garden . But after waiting many weeks , months and years you never saw fruit from it . How would you feel ?
I ’ m sure some of you would be looking for your receipt to return it , or maybe planning to chop it down . The frustration that you would be feeling would be because the tree was not doing what that trees are supposed to do .
Fruit trees are supposed to produce fruit , and trees that do not fail to fulfil their intended purpose !
The fruit a tree produces depends on what type of tree it is . So an orange tree produces oranges . If I was to shake an orange tree , and apples fell down , well that would be really odd !
Question : If Christians are a type of people who have Jesus inside … what type of fruit are Christians supposed to produce ? Christians are supposed to reproduce the person of Jesus and the Bible calls it specifically : The fruit of the Holy Spirit .
Memorise : Galatians 5:22-23 “ But the fruit of the Spirit is love , joy , peace , patience , kindness , goodness , faithfulness , gentleness and self-control . Against such things there is no law .”
Parents and guardians please teach and pray with children for deeper understanding and manifestation of the fruit of the spirit named below :
• Love : God ’ s unconditional love characterized by self-sacrifice .
• Joy : God ’ s joy not based on material things but on spiritual blessings .
• Peace : the tranquillity based on God ’ s sovereign love and acceptance .
• Patience : enduring unfair treatment by other people , as Christ did .
• Kindness : treating others with the same kindness God has shown us .
• Goodness : expressing the moral purity and righteousness of God .
• Faithfulness : being as trustworthy as God .
• Gentleness : displaying God ’ s humility in our dealing with others .
• Self-Control : experiencing God ’ s control over our fleshly desires .
We do not want behaviour management techniques for our children to grow up polite , but what we do want is for the word of God to be living and effective in our children . The Bible says we can recognise those people who have Jesus inside because of their fruit . This is a call , no this is a plea , for an increase in prayer in the home , for salvation to the children who do not have Jesus inside and an increase of fruitfulness to all including parents , guardians and leaders .
