The most interesting pieces to
be mentioned are The Caram-
bolo Treasure, which is the
most important example of the
Tartessic culture, and the
sculpture of Hermes, one of
the best classic statues found
in Spain.
Dividido en cinco zonas temá-
ticas (Guadalquivir, Atlántico,
Amazonia, Pacífico e Indo-Pa-
cífico) recrea el viaje que rea-
lizó Magallanes en 1519 alre-
dedor del mundo y en el que
los visitantes pueden sumer-
girse en los diversos fondos
marinos del planeta.

Está situado en el antiguo con-
vento de las Mercedarias Cal-
zadas de la Asunción. Como
museo fue inaugurado en
1841 y acoge una de las me-
jores colecciones del mundo
de arte español con obras de
Murillo, Velázquez, Zurbarán,
Valdés Leal y todos los repre-
sentantes de la escuela barro-
ca sevillana.
