http://www.dailyinfographic.com/ TED Talks represent another widely available source of content that can be watched at home and then exploited in class activities. TED talks cover a wide range of topics, which do not only appeal to students but can also develop their civic awareness, presentation skills, creativity and critical thinking. Not to mention that most of them are fun and thought provoking. TED talks can help bring ideas into conversation and debate, make students question different concepts and put ideas into perspective while thinking critically about them. Students can also suggest different talks to watch and come up with different activities for their classmates, thus taking learning to a whole new level. TED has an educational website, which contains lessons on different topics (lessons worth sharing) as well as a series of lessons based on different talks or animated videos. All the lessons contain ‘watch’, ‘think’, ‘dig deeper’ and ‘discuss’ sections and they can be customised according to one’s needs; also, new lessons can be created around any TED- Ed Original (animated videos), TED Talk or YouTube video. https://ed.ted.com/lessons/where-did-english-come-from-claire-bowern 67
