Abstract
The study was focused with the objective of proposing an environmental
education program to counteract the factors of deforestation in the vulnerable
areas of the La Vega de los Indios community, San Rafael de Canagua,
Pedraza municipality, Barinas state. The research framed in the quantitative
approach under the feasible project modality and in a field design. The
population constituted by one hundred fifty (150) inhabitants and the one to
make the calculations of the sample was used the formula proposed by Palella
and Martins (2012), obtaining a value of sixty (60) subjects. For the collection
of the information, a survey questionnaire with Likert scaling was designed with
five (05) alternative answers: Always, Almost Always, Sometimes, Almost
Never and Never. Therefore, the instrument was validated by three (03) experts
in: methodology and environmental education. Likewise, the internal
consistency coefficient of Cronbach (alpha) was used. The analysis of the data
was carried out by means of descriptive statistics; using the frequency
distribution the graphical representation was used the bar chart. The study
concludes: ignorance of the inhabitants according to the environmental
education program and the factors of deforestation. Likewise, the members of
the community have the need to apply environmental education programs. An
environmental education program was formulated, which reflects the specific
objective, content, strategies, activities, time, resources, responsible and
evaluation.
