An environmental engineer , " by destiny ", an expert in waste management , Guadalupe Pérez studied this career in her native Veracruz , where various refineries are installed , which at that time presented some hydrocarbon spills , which caused environmental damage to flora and fauna . ; So , given her concern and her desire to learn how to reverse those impacts , she decided to study said career . “ Environmental Engineer Day is celebrated on January 31 and that is my birthday . I think it was part of destiny that this race was for me and I really love what I do in it and also the part in which I contribute , to remedy what worried me at the time ”, she affirms . Despite struggling with mathematics , Guadalupe was delighted with environmental issues and especially with waste management , a topic that she finally chose for her thesis ; so it is no coincidence that it is one of the areas in which she has performed the most . In Tijuana , BC , Guadalupe ventured into environmental consulting , where she fully exploited the knowledge acquired in her engineering , since she addresses issues of air pollution , safety , remediation , environmental permits and , of course , waste management . In addition , her ability to talk about herself helped her to venture into personnel training ; which she finally ended up providing to more than 20 companies , to which they provided management services . In her city of origin , Las Choapas , Veracruz , she was director of a Department of Public Cleaning , in charge of the collection , disposal and management of urban public waste ; where she supervised the operation and compliance of the companies , for the issuance of permits . Despite being very young , she was in charge of more than 60 people , mostly men , which allowed her to forge her character . But Guadalupe also wanted to test the industrial part of Environmental Engineering , so she worked for a boiler treatment company in the Pajaritos Complex , where she did chemical studies of water quality and generated processes to optimize it . After the Covid-19 pandemic , he came to live in Playa del Carmen , where he coordinated the security area for hotel constructions , managing more than 500 people and working on optimizing processes for driving ; after which , she entered Mayakoba , also in the security area , and later to Ciudad Mayakoba . “ Then I arrive at Ciudad Mayakoba and I say : ‘ Wow ! In other words , what I knew or what I went through , well , I was only preparing myself for this site . I saw 50 % of my career and I still had to learn the other 50 %, I loved that more and it continues to keep me with that spark of wanting to give even more , because I know that I can give more , I know that I can do more . I can say that this has been the job of my dreams , the place that I fought for or that I aspired to reach one day ,” she said . Environmental supervision allows Guadalupe to be in contact with the staff , which is something she enjoys , while doing administrative work , reviewing environmental permits , environmental impact statements , etc . “ Since I left university I have not stopped working … I really love my career , they say that whoever likes what they do never has to work ,” she said . Always concerned and busy with waste management , since it is a global problem , Guadalupe ' s personal objective , within Ciudad Mayakoba , is to optimize the available resources to increasingly improve waste management . For this , she aspires that a larger area be allocated , where a transfer center could even be installed ; An ambitious goal , she acknowledges , but one that she is sure can be achieved , since there is the commitment of the management personnel with the care and protection of the environment . “ I am at that point of having the experience , the energy , the attitude and practically giving everything , so that this continues and leave a grain of sand in Ciudad Mayakoba ”, she affirms .
