BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC
Distance from ATL: 215 miles / 3.75 hours
A lot of people visit Asheville, North Carolina without ever stopping
in the charming town of Black Mountain.
THE JOURNEY
I like Black Mountain because it’s located 20 minutes outside of
Asheville and has cute B&Bs like The Inn Around The Corner and
Red Rocker Inn.
The best biscuit I’ve ever eaten was at Blue Ridge Biscuit
Company—this is a must-go for breakfast or lunch in Black
Mountain!
Another great restaurant that’s worth the 20 minute drive to
Ashville is Corner Kitchen, which serves up contemporary American
dishes with seasonal ingredients from local farms in a Victorian
cottage! Corner Kitchen has even had the pleasure of hosting
President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama back in April 2010.
Fun day trips to take from Black Mountain are to Asheville and to
Pisgah National Forest for picturesque views of the mountains and
of the beautiful fall foliage with hiking trails for all levels. Head on
over to Sky Top Orchard for your one stop shop for pumpkins and
apples—you can even pick your own apples here too!
