• Dr Shane stayed on at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute for two
years following his residency to earn his vitreoretinal fellowship, and
while he was doing so he also had the privilege of training with
some of the most respected vitreoretinal surgeons in the United
States. While at the Eye Institute he had the privilege of using
some of the most high technology equipment for eye surgery there
is; he also had the honor of becoming the Chief Resident and
Director of Ocular Trauma Service at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.
• Dr. Thomas Shane is now a Board Certified member of the
American Board of Ophthalmology; as he is also full member of
the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American
Society of Retinal Specialists.
