Organised by Montgomery Asia, Speciality & Fine Food Asia and Restaurant Pub & Bar Asia are dedicated trade platforms that connect
gourmet food producers and purveyors with decision makers in the foodservice, retail and hospitality sectors.
Bev Asia to organise their inaugural
Asia Food Innovation Awards designed
to recognise and reward excellence
across all aspects of the global F&B
industry, from manufacturing to
ingredients, packaging and finished
products.
Special guest appearances
Isaac Mchale, chef-owner of London’s
The Clove Club and Luca, has been
named as SFFA’s headline chef for the
second edition of the show. Known
for his thoughtful, pared back and
elegant approach that celebrates the
best of British produce, Mchale’s The
Clove Club opened in March 2013 and
quickly established itself at the forefront
of the UK dining scene, being voted
No.5 Best Restaurant in the UK after
five months of its opening, moving up
to No.2 the following year. In 2015 it
was voted No.55 in the World’s 50 Best
Restaurants list, and in 2016 rose to
No.26 in the world.
For his first time in Singapore,
Mchale will present two cooking
demonstrations at SFFA’s Fine Food
Live stage, in addition to sitting on a
panel discussing the art of fine dining.
Another highlight of his visit will be a
one-night-only four-hands dinner with
Julien Royer, chef-owner of Odette — a
modern French restaurant located at the
National Gallery Singapore.
The organiser revealed that
Mchale’s appointment is the first of
many industry-leading talents that
will be joining the SFFA line-up
this year, alongside extended on-site
programming and innovative features.
Registration for the shows is
now open and retailers will stand to
benefit from this year’s edition of the
exhibitions.
“Aside from getting to explore a
wide variety of innovative products
from various exhibitors, retailers will
also be among the first to witness the
development of new brands through
our investor pitching series. They will
also have a front-row seat to the latest
F&B innovations in the industry, and
access to the people who are making
this all happen at the Asia Food
Innovation Awards. Panel sessions
on the global F&B outlook and
e-commerce, an important industry
trend, are also all part of the programme
for retailers and are the perfect
opportunity to meet with like-minded
individuals to discuss opportunities and
challenges facing the business,” McCuin
assured.
SFFA is the Asian edition of the
UK’s market-leading trade showcase of
fine food and drink, Speciality & Fine
Food Fair. The Asian edition concluded
on a successful note with its inaugural
show last July in Singapore, where 161
exhibitors met approximately 3,000
trade visitors from South-east Asia and
beyond. The organiser says, this year’s
show will continue to build upon the
success of last year’s show and strengthen
its specialist nature by bringing the best
artisan and premium producers to meet
with trade buyers from the foodservice,
hospitality, retail and F&B industries
across South-east Asia. ra
