Malaysia’s longest running F&B industry
event, the Malaysia International Food
& Beverage (MIFB), is marking its 19th
year and this year, the exhibition also
marks its fourth year as a full trade fair.
Organiser Sphere Exhibits says there
is a variety of opportunities for growing
F&B businesses this year , but staying
on top of changing customer needs,
understanding millennial preferences,
leveraging key technology strategies and
being mindful of strategic acquisitions
will all be essential in the competitive
marketplace.
What’s in store for the next
few years?
Malaysia’s leading and premium F&B trade
fair is held in Kuala Lumpur annually.
MIFB continues to play its role as a platform
for the F&B industry players to introduce,
exchange and learn about the latest
innovations and technologies from around
the world.
MIFB 2018 will give visitors an insight
into what is new and exciting within
the F&B industry. These trends are
based on developing and emerging
consumer demand for products that are
healthy, convenient and trustworthy
and are informed by MIFB’s work
and association with producers,
manufacturers and clients across Europe,
Middle East, Asia, Africa and the US.
Working in line with the current
food trends, this year’s MIFB will
have four main segments within the
exhibition floor, Food & Beverage;
Food Technology; Seafood and Fishery;
and Halal Food. Sphere Exhibits is also
collaborating with Halal Media Japan
to promote the Halal Food segment, a

restauranteurs, wholesalers, retailers,
grocers, delicatessens, canned food,
chilled and frozen food, dairy products,
food ingredients, fresh produce, halal
food, health and organic food, herbs
& spices, meat & poultry, processed &
convenience food, seafood, snacks, wine
& spirits, confectioneries, chocolates,
sweets, condiments and sauces, drinks &
beverages, lab test, point of sale (POS)
system, and many more.
International presence
The organiser says the event serves as a
perfect platform to connect with more
than 550 exhibitors from more than 50
countries. Country group pavilions from
South Korea, Thailand, China, Taiwan
and Sri Lanka will be part of the trade
show, and more countries are expected
to join the list based on the positive
enquiries received.
Other important highlights during
the three-day trade fair include one-
to-one business matching sessions
to facilitate exhibitors and buyers to
source and identify potential business
partners to expand their market globally.
Meanwhile, the International and Local
VIP Buyer Programme will help to look
for the right international and local
business partners by connecting the
top-tier buyers and MIFB exhibiting
companies.
Additionally, Trade Talks @ MIFB
will be presented by the partners
and exhibitors of MIFB 2018 to
highlight F&B business opportunities,
industry focused talk, innovation and
technologies.
