Senator proposes nationalizing the lithium
Senator Mariano Ruiz-Esquide( DC) stated that before the alleged irregularities in the bidding process of the lithium industry, we must look to nationalize mineral. " Clearly we should nationalize the Chilean lithium.( Should) consolidate a broad social movement to defend Chilean lithium and the government should give clear and concrete explanations," said the senator.
He. denounced the government has tried to privatize the ore by international bidding process, according to the State Defense Council, have great vices. " Lithium, like all natural resources, is Chilean, therefore, any operation must be carried out by the state through a bill and an open discussion in parliament, a situation that has not happened," said.

Empresarios buscan modificar la ley minera en Mendoza
La Cámara Mendocina de Empresarios Mineros( CAMEM) quiere cambiar la Ley Provincial de Minería, y su argumento para solicitar los cambios es la caída del proyecto de Potasio Río Colorado, luego de la salida de la Minera Vale.
El objetivo de la cámara es declarar inconstitucional la legislación vigente que paraliza varios de los emprendimientos, que son fuertemente rechazados por la ciudadanía, como por ejemplo el caso de Sierra Pintada en San Rafael, Don Sixto en Malargüe o San Jorge en Uspallata. La CAMEM ya se presentó en la legislatura y en la justicia, además en algunos sectores del ejecutivo para avanzar en un programa de una " Mendoza minera ", buscando rediscutir el alcance de la Ley 7.722.
Otro argumento es el interés de varios inversionistas de llegar a la provincia a generar desarrollo del sector lo que a su vez aliviaría la crítica situación de desempleo. La CAMEM alertó sobre la pérdida de puestos laborales con la salida de Vale y los 400 mendocinos que se quedaron sin trabajo por la paralización de Pascua- Lama en San Juan.
